HOW THE PROCESS
OF UPPER EYELIDS SURGERY LOOKS LIKE?
- Immediately before the operation, the plastic surgeon performs a complete 3D modeling of your future face using the Vectra XT diagnostic system and applies markings to the skin of the eyelids. Usually, the operation takes place under local anesthesia. If upper blepharoplasty is performed without a combination with lower blepharoplasty or other operations, it can be done under general anesthesia (gas anesthesia).
- The aim of the upper blepharoplasty operation is to remove excess skin and fatty tissue in the area of the upper eyelid.
- Since the incision is made in the natural crease of the upper eyelid, no visible scar remains after the operation. The eyelids have thin skin with good blood supply, which is why incisions from surgical interventions on the skin heal quickly and without a trace.
- The duration of surgery on the upper eyelids depends on the volume of removed tissues and usually does not exceed 2 hours.
POSTOPERATIVE PERIOD
- On the same day after operation patients go home, and later visit the clinic for a planned examination.
- Sutures are removed 4 - 5 days after the operation. In the first days after the operation, you need to follow the regime without straining the eyes, use the drops prescribed by your plastic surgeon to prevent dry eyes and the development of infections.
- A week after upper blepharoplasty, you will be able to go to work and lead a normal lifestyle. Contact lenses can be used in 2 weeks. In the first month after plastic surgery of the upper eyelids, it is not recommended to be in the bright sun to prevent pigmentation of postoperative scars.
